Can You Combine Different CBD Products?

In recent years, products containing CBD have gained a lot of attention. An increasing number of consumers are using CBD for pets as well.

With the many types of products on the market today, and more being introduced, one is left to wonder if it is safe for people to use CBD in its many forms simultaneously. Although the many methods of consuming CBD are attractive to try, the question arises: Can you combine different CBD products?

CBD and Safe Use

When some people hear the term cannabidiol, they immediately think of marijuana or hash oils which contain THC. While both substances come from the same cannabis plant, CBD does not create the “high” that THC does. CBD is considered very safe.

In a report from 2018, the World Health Organization(WHO) found that CBD products create no sense of dependency and studies showed that no pattern of addiction could be found. In animal trials, it was also found that CBD for pets could not be used as a substitute for THC addiction.

This is not to say that there aren’t any side-effects if you consume too much cannabidiol. In the majority of cases, you will have no problems using CBD products.

Usually, any side-effects that do occur are the result of consuming extreme amounts of CBD – over 20,000mg. There can also be problems if the supplement has a reaction with other drugs or supplements you are taking. These side-effects are:

  • Vomiting and nausea
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Diarrhea

As with any supplement you decide to take, always consult a physician to best advise you on how to avoid overuse and side-effects.

Using Different CBD Products

As you may have already discovered, people can consume CBD in various forms, such as:

  • CBD gummies
  • CBD edibles
  • CBD tincture
  • CBD pills
  • CBD e-juice for vaping

Your choice of how to take CBD is up to you, and you can make your decision according to the personal effectiveness of each method.

For example, it takes about twenty minutes CBD to get to work if taken under the tongue, one or two hours if taken orally, and if it is vaped, you can feel the effects in just a few minutes.

Proper Dosage and CBD

While dosage needs will vary from person to person, we suggest starting out slowly with smaller doses and increasing as you see fit. Depending on other substances or medications you may be taking, this is the safest way to avoid side-effects due to any potential negative interactions. Once you determine it is safe, you can increase dosage as necessary. When you find your ideal dosage, you can then start to vary the different ways of consuming CBD products.

What is the Difference Between Pure CBD and Full-Spectrum CBD Products?

In doing CBD research, you may have discovered three terms frequently used: full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and pure/isolate CBD. So, what are the differences?

  • Isolate – Also known as isolated cannabidiol or pure CBD. Isolate chemically separates, or isolates, from the THC and other compounds contained in the plant. This blend is the closest to 100% cannabidiol.
  • Broad-spectrum CBD – These products utilize the whole hemp plant and contain percentages of several different compounds, which can include CBN or CBG but no THC. CBD is still the predominant percentage compound in the formula, with minor percentages of other hemp compounds.  In turn, the combination of the CBD with the additional compounds all working together, maximize the effects of the CBD.
  • Full-spectrum CBD – Like broad spectrum, full-spectrum CBD contains whole hemp plant extracts, with CBD still prevailing as the highest percentage compound, in combination with the additional extracted cannabinoids.  The difference between broad and full spectrum is that full spectrum products can contain levels of THC under 0.3%.  These minimal levels do not cause psychoactive effects.

Isolates and broad-spectrum CBD products are easily available and can be purchased without a prescription.

Some full-Spectrum CBD products can only be purchased in states that allow medical marijuana or have legal recreational marijuana use. In these states you may need a prescription in order to purchase them. Always check with your local laws before purchasing full-spectrum CBD products, just to be safe. At PUR IsoLabs, the full-spectrum option contains only trace amounts of THC under 0.3%, so you should have no problem obtaining them, and you will not experience a high.

The Bottom Line

The choice of CBD is up to you, and PUR IsoLabs can cater to all of your needs, whether you’re a beginner or experienced user of CBD supplements. PUR IsoLabs also offers products in various milligrams and modes of delivery to help you find your perfect balance.

Once you find your ideal regimen, you can safely start to combine and experiment with the various forms of cannabidiol.
